Gear Up For A Give Away!!

OK, as promised, I'm back with a SUPER GIVE AWAY!!

As well as the launch of the "Girl Stuff" pattern ...

I'm re-launching an existing range of Tag Along Teddies patterns. The patterns from the "Card Kit" range have undergone a 'make-over' and are re-emerging as "Wonderful Weekend Kits". Each "Wonderful Weekend Kit" comes with the instructions to make the project pictured on the pattern cover, a paper copy of a the stitchery design, a piece of background fabric on which to trace the pattern, a blank gift tag which features a photo of the project and a laminated bookmark featuring the finished project. The "Wonderful Weekend Kits" make a great gift idea - just write a message on the gift tag and "HEY PRESTO" you've got a fun crafty gift ready to give a friend. Or spoil yourself! So many of us work full time, so only have weekends to 'play' with our craft and all projects in the WWK range are designed to be finished in a weekend - start it, finish it - then go to work Monday and brag about it! Tee! Hee! Hee! There are currently four patterns in the WWK range: "Lavender Tea" (which many of you will have seen recently!); "Love Bears All Things"; "Grow With Love"; and "Beary Christmas Stocking Ornament". The "Love Bears All Things" and "Grow With Love" kits also include laser-cut timber buttons made by Lisa at Button Bliss. The little bear in "Love Bears All" is my Tag Along Teddies teddy, but the daisies and lots of other wonderful buttons are available on Lisa's web site, so check them out. Here's a photo of the five patterns included in the give away, along with the bookmarks for the "Wonderful Weekend Kits" and an example of the gift tags. (The others are in the other room and I'm in a hurry to get this posted!!)

So ... I will be giving away one each of these five patterns. All you have to do to be in the prize draw, is to leave me a comment on THIS post telling me about your dream/ideal weekend - things like: what would you do, where would you go, who would be with you, what would you eat (always important, right!!). And you have just over a week to do this. Entries in the draw will close on Friday April 17 (Australian Eastern Standard Time) which may mean my overseas friends need to leave their comment by Thursday April 16. I'll draw four names out of the hat, and they will receive the prizes in the order they are in the photo - so first winner gets "Girl Stuff", second gets " Beary Christmas" etc. Hope that's not too confusing!! I'll contact the winners by email (so please make sure you include your email in your entry if you're a "No reply" blogger) and then post the winners names on Saturday. PHEW! There's a lot of work to a give away!! :0) So now ... GET COMMENTING!!

And now, I'm off to gather up my sewing gear and pack a port (suitcase!) because we're heading off to visit my parents for the Easter weekend, while friends come and stay in our house to attend the Easterfest music festival here in Toowoomba. I'd like to wish you all a happy and safe Easter and hope that as you enjoy the holiday, spend time with family and friends and enjoy your Easter gifts, that you remember the priceless gift that Easter commemorates! Til next time - Bear Hugs!

CHEERS!
KRIS

Oh oh I am first woohoo!!! Unless of course someone else types a bit faster than me.
My dream weekend is one spent in the company of great friends, drinking coffee, browsing through shops whilst leaving ample time to simply sit and watch the world go by with stitching or a good magazine on my lap. Of course there would be chocolate and Foccacia of some sort and if I was totally relaxed and not driving anywhere some lovely bubly champagne.....aaahh...oh and if I could see or hear the ocean even better....
Hope your Easter weekend is wonderful, please drive safely and have a wonderful time,
Kiss Noises Linda

I know exactly what my dream weekend would be. To meet all you wonderful bloggerfriends. Imagine how fun we would have, all that we had to chat about, all the laughter and great friendship. And what to eat..... I really do not know what to serve so many people so I guess we just have a barbeque.

Happy easter dear.

Hi Kris

One of my ideal weekends would be to go on a craft retreat (that I didn't have to organise!!) in a nice peaceful location with my Mum and other friends and then I can craft and chat all weekend (although I tend to do more chatting than crafting!) without four little children needing my attention (I do love them though) and then I would be eating lots of yummy food... anything I don't have to cook! I could think of many other dream weekends away though!

Nancy in Norway said...

Oh what a great give-away! Count me inn :-)

My favorite weekend would be with a great mix of family and friends making reel Mexican tacos and all that great stuff to go with. This weekend would be a great mix of chatting, football (for the guys), stitching/ sewing (for the girls), eating, drinking wine or beer and tequila, fire on the outdoor fireplace and quilt to keep evening chills away.

Our youngest kids are mid teens now so it's only a matter of a few years before I can finally head off with hubby on OUR dream weekend. Firstly we need a panel-van (remember the old Sandman?) complete with mattress in the back, a supply of chocolate and berries, ample vegemite and Saos, and we'll head to a deserted beach and spend the weekend swimming, sleeping, loving, eating, and reliving our youth...before heading back to the real world once again. I am so hoping this is one dream that becomes reality! :-)

Hi Kris! First of all, I LOVE your new idea! The WWK's look fantastic - something unique, and like you say, what a great gift for a crafty friend! LOVING IT!!!

I think I've just had one of my greatest weekends away (!!) But if I could have another one it would include mountain views, my lovely man, kids that don't require any maintenance and play happily ALL the time without tantrums (we can fantasise can't we?!!!), fresh air, chocolate and pastries... and uninterrupted sewing & painting! Yep - that should do it! :-)

Have a great Easter weekend! :-)

Hi Kris, I love your new patterns. What a great giveaway.
My ideal weekend varies, but at the moment it would be staying at home with my hubby, preparing yummy homemade meals to eat on the verandah in the beautiful autumn weather, doing a bit of stitching and reading and no housework.

Ohboy! First,I'd get a flight to Melbourne, meet all my galpals who have come as well, then we'd retire to a luxury motel suite with spa tub, set up shop, then sew/eat chocolate/drink champers/chat/girly stuff. Then we'd go for a walk, find a place to eat dinner, then hit the theatre to see WICKED the musical, followed by supper at a really good coffee shop, falling into bed around 3am. Sleeping in, coffee and croissant, more spa and lounging, sewing, till time to fly home...aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh....

My dream weekend would be spent with my husband in the Blue Mountains/Southern Highlands area in spring/early summer, with a quilt show and carft fair going on somewhere, like Katoomba/Berrima, and after the show we would have Devonshire tea, and the next day we would go walking. This is what we used to do, years-and-years back when we were living in Australia. Ah, those good old days... :-)

Kris, of course there are thousands of places I would love to go to but if time, money and distance were not an issue, I would pick Australia ! I am not saying this since you live there. I am saying this since Australia has all the best magazines, pattern and quilty things.

I guess I would bring my DH along ( not a really good choice for this kind of trip but he can carry all my purchases ..LOL)For this kind of shopping trip I would rather bring my best friend but don't tell my DH that :-)

Where would I go ?? To every quilt shop I could find ! LOL
I would buy all the lovely patterns, magazines, threads and everything else I always see on the net but can't get. I would shop till I dropped or till my Visa exploded ! LOL

I have no idea what I would eat?? Since I have never been there before ...maybe I would get exotic and try Kangaroo ?? I am sure some nice Aussie would tell me what to eat & drink...I wouldn't starve to death.LOL I am sure it would all be a fabulous experience.

If only my trip was possible...I really have to buy more lottery tickets :-)
In the meantime I hope I win in your giveaway..it would be almost as good as being there ;-) ..the Girl stuff bags are to die for:-)
Hugs,Liz who is dreaming of her trip ...ahhhhh :-))

Hi Kris :-)
My dream weekend would be to meet with a lot of blogger friends - you included - for a sew-together. Preferably somewhere with a good climate, where we could go for walks too.
We could rent a chef to do all the cooking, or call for food.
Chocolate, pies and fresh fruits in abundance for snacks, an a lot of good wine would add to the experience in every good way!
Not to forget - plenty of good coffee and tea!

Your patterns looks great - good luck with the promotion !!
I would love to be the lucky winner of one :-)

Hi Kris, this sounds like funnn...My favorite weekend right now would be spent on a nice quiet beach with crafty friends. We would each bring a project to do with a kit for everyone there. We would craft all weekend;) As for food...anything would be fine as long as someone else fixed it and cleaned up. Oh yeah...with lots of chocolate too;)
Happy Easter;)

I'm thinking that the travelling is free and not part of my weekend because otherwise I'd spend it all in a plane! What I'll do is go to the Litchfield National Park near Kakadu in the Northern Territory and swim in the rock pools there. I'd like to eat back in Cairns. There's a fabulous Greek restaurant [might be called Fetta] and they do lovely food and the staff are all really kind and friendly too. We went there three times in 5 days! And of course, I couldn't go anywhere if my lovely man wasn't there to share it all with me.

Amanda said...

What lovely prizes. And such fun to read what other people's dream weekend would be. My ideal weekend is very simple - staying at home with my DH and having my sons to visit. We'd go out for lunch to a local vegetarian restaurant, have a long walk in the afternoon. Supper would be something simple, like jacket potatoes and salad. And then a Dr Who special in the evening! Sunday would involve a leisurely start with breakfast out whilst reading the newspapers. And I'm afraid I like nothing more on a Sunday afternoon than watching an old film and dozing (it's my age I think!). And if I could squeeze in some stitching I'd be in seventh heaven.

Great give away. I would love any of it.

Dream weekend would be home with no TV or Phone calls. So I would have time to rest, sew and just do what ever comes to mind. No time table to meet. Just what ever.

Happy Easter.

I have just read about 30 comments so far on your blog and I began to have all the same ideas as they did--but then I realized that i am lucky in fact that I get to stitch alot--so I think my perfect weekend would be volunteering at an animal shelter that had a variety of animals that needed some "loving"--and as long as I took along my stash of chocolate and a project to work on after hours--I would be a happy camper!!

Hi Kris, Your new patterns look awesome! There are a few weekends I dream about... 1: Havening the house all for myself, so I can sleep in my own bed as long as I want and go and play in my sewing room for as long as I want without having to bother about food and drinks and looking after kids or husband.
2: A weekend with all my quilting bee buddies, so we can chat and quilt for the whole weekend instead of just one morning.
3. Taking my best friend for a trip to Edinburgh, Scotland and visit my friends over there on sunday...

Hi Kris, Happy Easter.
A springtime weekend at an old inn in the English countryside. The sound of birds singing and a view of green meadows where lambs frisk around and the rabbits hop in and out of bushes. Sunshine warming me as I sit with a good book or sewing in my hands. A cream tea on the table, mmmm. I would be quite happy by myself, but would also enjoy the company of good friends.
Oh, must wake up now! Love the patterns, Kris!

Of course the weather have to be nice, then I can sit outside doing some stitchery or knitting in between, or reading a book.
At dinner time saturday a chef would come over and make a lovely BBQ for me and my friends the sewing sisters. And I`ll spend the rest of the evening having fun with the girls.

If you ask me another time the answer will probably totaly different.

Please pick my name for one of your patterns, I would love to win...

Hi Kris,
wow, what a giveaway...congrats on the re-launch!!!
Hmmm...my perfect weekend? Hard question, there are so many things I still haven't done yet & so many places to visit...but I'll give it a try...
My perfect weekend {and sorry, if my idea isn't really new}:
Meet my favourite bloggers {yep, of course I'm speaking of you too ;o)} in a wonderful all-inclusive-more-than-any-quilter/crafter-could wish retreat somewhere in a beautiful surrounding, needing no sleep, having fun, fun FUN making quilts/other projects, learning from each other, showing our creations, shopping in the built-in quilt shop, and talking faster than e-mail or blogs do allow us to...
AND I'd wish the retreat were located in a "time-hole" so it would last much longer ;o)
I wish I could hug you in person & we could make the happy dance together *zippety-hoppedy-clonk* {last one is me accidentially hitting the wall}!
