Surprise Parcels Speed Recovery!

Thank you to all you lovely blogging buddies who have commented and emailed to wish me a quick recovery from my nasty head cold. It has been lovely to be reminded that even when I'm feeling icky, there are lots of people out there sending lovely thoughts my way - THANK YOU!
I feel like I'm up to about 80% speed today - not coughing too much any more, nose not dripping as much, but I'm finding I get tired quickly. A couple more days and I should be back up to 100%. ESPECIALLY with the lovely spoiling I received today!! :0)

I got home from work later than usual, due to playing catch up after having Monday and Tuesday off sick. Just as I was climbing out of the car, one of my parcel delivery guys pulled up beside me in his van (the helpful one, NOT the one who has dreams of being an Olympic shot-putter who practices by hurling my parcels onto the verandah!) and he said, "I've just left a couple of parcels on the verandah for you." Hmmm ... it must be the book I've been waiting for and a very eager-beaver SSCS swap partner, I thought to myself. WRONG! Instead, I was the very spoilt recipient of not one, but TWO "just because" gifties!! Aaaaaawwww! Blogging buddies are the sweetest, aren't they!! :0)

The first parcel was from the lovely Anna-Rosa and I could see straight away that she'd been creative ...

Not only had she made a pretty gift tag with beadies on, she had obviously seen Jenny's tutorial on how to make pretty wrapping paper with waxed lunch wrap and flower petals. :0) Ooohh ... what could be inside ...

A gorgeous iridescent butterfly hanging ornament and a fabulous iridescent lace-covered candle holder with some lovely scented candles. WOW! Thanks Anna! I saw pics on Anna's blog when she was playing with her iridescent paints and thought how pretty they looked - they look even prettier in person!! What a lovely 'just because' gift - THANK YOU!! :0)

And the second parcel had winged it's way all the way from Texas. Susan and her beloved were on holidays a while ago and while she was browsing (as you do on holidays!! Tee! Hee! Hee!) she came across some GORGEOUS teddy fabrics and thought of me ...

Aren't they just too CUTE!!! :0) The top two on the left are soft, fuzzy flannel and the others are lovely cottons. I especially love the aqua green ones at the bottom ... well ... after all ... I AM a GREEN girl! Tee! Hee! Hee! Thank you SOOOOOO much Susan! As I said to Susan, not only was it a lovely surprise to receive such pretties in the mail, it was lovely to think that someone was thinking of me at all - especially while they were on holidays! :0)

So, all in all, I'm feeling considerably cheerier than I was a couple of days ago ... and feeling very SPOILT! :0) Thanks again for my special parcels, gals! It just continues to blow me away that blogging allows us to make such great friends all around the world and that even if we never meet 'in person' we can support and care for one another long-distance. Yep ...

BLOGGERS ROCK! :0)

But now, I think my slowly recharging batteries are going a bit flat again, so I shall go and make myself a cup of tea and have a little sit-and-read. I'm hoping to get stuck into some serious sewing on the weekend, so should be back with some stitching pics and some pics of Tiffy's 21st in the next few days. Whatever you're all up to today, may there be a rainbow to brighten your day somehow - whether it's stripes of colour in the sky, a gift from a friend, a hug from a loved one, a tail wag from a dog or a smile from a stranger! Til next time ...

BEAR HUGS!
CHEERS!

Gorgeous pretties you have received -sometimes things just turn up at the right time.

I got my rainbow - my client today(Thursday) was a relative I have not seen in a lot years. It was fun to catch up and meet her children.

Glad to hear you are slowly on the mend Kris. Don't 'just because' gifts have a way of cheering you up. I think it is the surprise element that gives you the lift.
Hope you are resting over the weekend.
