Lest We Forget!

Today is April 25. As well as being Easter Monday, it is ANZAC Day here in Australia. This, above all other days, is when we pause to remember the efforts and sacrifices made by those men and women who have served in our armed forces past and present to protect our country and our way of life. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice of laying down their life in that service. I think that is particularly poignant this year with Easter and ANZAC Day falling so close together. Both remind us of sacrifices made on our behalf to give us a future.

It's also a day that makes me think of my Gramps. He's no longer with us and I miss him, but I know he was proud to serve his country in Papua New Guinea.

So to my Gramps and all others who have served in our armed services during combat or peace-keeping initiatives ...

THANK YOU!!
"At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Lest We Forget."

Wherever you are, whatever you're doing this Easter and ANZAC weekend, stay safe. Til next time ...

Hi Kris,

Happy ANZAC Day. Was your Gramps in WW2? He looks very dashing in his uniform. It's still Easter Sunday here in Texas.

I spent the day changing the entire look of my blog; I thought it was getting a bit dated. Check it out and let me know what you think.

As I lay my head down tonight...I will ponder and pray for those who are in harms way...protecting oru freedoms.

So young he looks on the photo. I am sure lots of sad thoughts for many on this day. We do not mark
in this way,but on our national day,may 17th,flowers are put on some official monuments. Correct that we do not forget.
