Feeling A Bit Blah!

Hello to all of my blogging buddies! I hope you all had an enjoyable & restful Christmas. We caught up with GB's family on Christmas Day & spent Boxing Day with my folks which was nice.

I had to work one day this week while my boss was going to be out of the office & was then looking forward to five days of sleeping in, watching cricket & some sewing. Well ... After my boss blindsided me with a very attacking rundown of my real or perceived shortcomings for the whole year, I found myself feeling rather BLAH! None of us are perfect & there's always room for improvement, but I just feel like I've had my feet kicked out from under me.

So ... There has been a bit of sleeping in & I have watched some cricket & spent a lot of time reading ... But no sewing. I just haven't had any motivation or inspiration. I know I'll eventually bounce back, but just feeling BLAH for now.

On a positive note, my SSCS partner Steffi sent me an email to tell me that she loves her main gifties.

I made Steffi a set of drawstring bags that she can use to organise her underwear in her bag when she travels (like I do) or she might like to use them to store her creative projects. I loved working with the black & neutral colours & the fabrics were yummy. :0) I also included a copy of my "Sweetly Shabby Christmas" pattern, some pretty fabrics & some embroidery threads. I hope Steffi enjoys playing with her gifts. Santa is still being a bit slow in delivering my parcel from my SSCS partner - he must have worked overtime & worn himself out. :0)

Thank you once again to Chookyblue for hosting this fun swap. :0)

OPAM gals ... We're almost at the end of another month, so if you haven't already updated your sidebar lists & emailed your tally to me or my GORGEOUS Partner-In-Crime Sweet Peg, you'd better hop to it. Good thing I finished a few projects before Christmas & the onset of my "BLAHS".

As 2016 winds down (not quite in the way I'd hoped or planned on, but there you go!) I wish you all a very happy, healthy & enjoyable 2017. Remember not to take your friends & loved ones for granted, spend time doing what you love & makes you happy & take care of yourself. I look forward to continuing to share your creative endeavours in the new year. Thank you to all of you for your support, interest & friendship. You make me feel blessed. :0) Til next time ...

BEAR HUGS!

CHEERS!
KRIS

That's a bit unfair, if there was anything wrong it should have come up when it was noticed rather than saved. Maybe your boss is suffering from this awful heat we are having and something minor was blown out of proportion with you at the receiving end.
Chin up, fresh start in 2 days! Aren't we lucky to have New Year and a clean slate.

Poor Kris. Not a happy way to finish off the year. At least you have had a few days away from work to let the dust settle. Your gifts to Steffi are lovely. I was lucky enough to receive my gift from her. I've only one little finish this month. I'd better put it in my side bar. Have a Happy New Year.

No wonder you have the Blahs, you poor thing, that is not a constructive way to approach staff, your boss is lacking at least one essential skill and its a big one on his/her shortcomings list!...your giftees for Steffi are lovely...come on Santa, it's a big hill which should make it easier to find from the air and Kris needs her pressie...

I'm so sorry you had the rug pulled out from under you. It's a tough go, but I know you'll pull out of your BLAHs. Nuts! Crummy way to end the year. Gifts for the Santa Sack Swap were thoughtful and sweet. Best wishes for a wonderful 2017.

Don't think much of your supervisor's people skills. Haven't you worked there for a long time? How long has the boss been there? The annoying part is whether he/she is right or wrong he/she is still the boss!!
Hopefully 2017 will have a better start than the end of 2016. Have a great new years while you are still on days off!

Dreadful management skills, you do him a favour and that's what you cop in return, awful! He needs a good slap!
My motivation comes and goes, I've been procrastinating about cleaning my craft room but other things keep distracting me...maybe tomorrow! Happy New Years Kris and I'm sending bad vibes to your boss for being a total idiot! Hugs jo

Hello Kris,

Thanks so much for hosting OPAM this year, I really appreciate the work that goes into it. Hope your boss is feeling remorseful for his harsh words. Love the special bags you made for the swap, the flower one is my favourite. All the best for 2017.

Happy days.

I've been there; it really sucks! Especially when you get blind sided like that. You have my sympathy. Take heart, everyone here knows how awesome you really are. :)

Hi Kris, Some big bear hugs back at you! It must be the year for managers and bosses to think they have the right to run people down .... we have had a huge amount of that at my work at the hospital (you know, that place where people are meant to actually give 2 hoots!!). Let me just say that I have found you to be very helpful, willing to listen, encouraging and inspiring ..... so let the BLAH become an object and kick it to the curb! Hugs Sharm xoxo
