Day 2 Of The Adventure!

Hello to all of you out there in blogland! Just popping in to continue the road trip story. As I said last post, we stayed the night with Chookyblue & Mr Chooky ...

Yep ... We made it, Chooky! :0) Now any of you who follow Chookyblue will know they live on a property & are in the midst of a severe drought. I don't think this is something that can be fully understood unless you see it for yourself & see the flow on results ... Like having to feed stock twice a day ...

Which can include bottle feeding some who for one reason or another can't feed from their mothers.

I helped! :0) Not sure feeding one was a lot of help, but the calf seemed to appreciate it. :0) After saying goodbye to Chookyblue & promising to come back for a longer visit, we were back on the road heading south. And after another full day of driving we arrived at Jerilderie ... Ned Kelly country ...

For non-Aussie visitors, Ned Kelly was a bushranger in the late 1800's who became a bit of a folk hero & is known for making & wearing body armour to protect him from police shooting at him. This is the post office he & his gang held up in Jerilderie. We came across it while having a little walking reconnoiter before dinner at a local pub ...

... Where GB renewed his inner man with a juicy T-bone steak & veges. :0) After a couple of 8 hour driving days, he deserved it.

We're heading further south tomorrow to Ballarat where we'll meet up with my brother who is driving from Melbourne to meet us ... Looking forward to it. These first two days were our biggest driving days to scoot down in time to meet my brother. From tomorrow our distances covered will be a bit shorter, giving us more time to explore. So far, we're enjoying the adventure. :0) Stay tuned for the next instalment ... Til then ...

So glad you got to visit Chooky and Co. I’m sure she enjoyed having you stay. That sure is some steak! He needs his energy for all that driving.
