Simplify For Christmas!

I know I said I'd be back on Thursday to tell you my exciting news ... sorry about that ... the days seem to have slipped away from me! :0) But I'm back now!!

OK ... so to my news ... This is going to be especially exciting for those of you out there who LOVE the Christmas season. I have to admit that this ISN'T always me, cos by the tail end of the year, I'm usually running so far behind that as December rolls around, I'm just about ready for Easter ... LAST Easter!! :0) However, it is still one of my favourite times of the year as the weather warms up ... hmmmm ... still waiting for THAT one to happen! My favourite fruits start appearing in the shops ... mangoes, cherries, lychies, nectarines, peaches, watermelon, rockmelon ... a summer fruit salad! :0) And we start planning family get-togethers.

I have to say that in the last few years, though, I've become a bit disillusioned with the commercialism and hype of our modern Christmas. Somehow the extra glitz and glamour, the preoccupation with size and expense of gifts, takes away some of the Christmas glow for me. But I've come up with a solution ... SIMPLIFY! So I was VERY excited when my lovely blogging buddy, Kerryanne English of Shabby Art Boutique asked me to be part of her campaign to simplify Christmas and I'm pleased to tell you I will be supporting ...

Kerryanne is encouraging us all to have a home-made Christmas this year and from October 1 til December 24, she will be featuring lots of ways to help people do just that. There will be craft and decorating projects, recipes, ideas for celebrations ... all designed to get rid of some of the tinsel and get back to the basics of a simpler, family Christmas celebration. During this time, Kerryanne will also be featuring some guest bloggers ... including yours truly ... to share tutorials and Christmas fun. So if YOU would like to be part of this fabulous home-made Christmas campaign, pop across to Kerryanne's blog HERE and read more. She's already shared her first Christmas project - a Christmas organiser to help get you started. Maybe if I start getting organised NOW with Kerryanne, I'll actually be ready for Christmas this year. Hmmm ... MAYBE! :0)

Right now, I'm jingling off to put the kettle on and start making some Christmas lists ... have you been NAUGHTY or NICE?!?! :0) Til next time ...

BEAR HUGS!
CHEERS!

love the idea of getting simple ideas for christmas and especially if they save me a few pennies...
we started a trashy santa for adults in our family last christmas which is meant to keep the cost down to $10 or less amd is a real riot!
cant wait to see your tutorial, bet it will be fantastic.

Dare I say it.... if you're anything like me... excellent intentions that never happen! ;) Life just gets too busy. I have bought patterns especially to make people for Christmas and time is slowly but surely running out! Maybe I need to put away all non-essential craft work and just concentrate on Christmas gear! Shall pop over and check out your new inspiration!
