Aaaaaah! Holidays!

Happy New Year to all of my lovely Bloggy Buddies out there! I wish you all a 2019 full of fantastic new adventures, fabulous friends & ... Of course ... FABRIC! :0)

I've been enjoying my staycation over the Christmas/New Year period, though I haven't crossed off many of the things on my holiday "To Do" list. However, I HAVE spent some time playing with a new quilt design ... Quite a LOT more time on the editing stage than I'd anticipated. When I'm working on a new design, I do a pencil sketch, then go over it in felt tip pen, then tidy it up in Photshop to neaten wobbly lines etc. Apparently there was a bit of a hiccup when I scanned my rough sketch into Photoshop & it required a LOT more editing time than I counted on. Whoever thinks pattern designers just scribble a quick sketch & sell the pattern for quick & easy money has not spent several days staring at a computer screen fine tuning a sketch to get it ready for others to easily use. Good thing I enjoy what I do ... Mostly! :0P But today I'm reaping the rewards of my computer time ...

Today I'm STITCHING in front of a favourite movie ... Can you guess which one?? :0)

In preparing my stitching, I've also had another little play ...

... With my watercolour pencils. I'm pretty happy with the results, but don't want to reveal too much yet ... My new design is still Secret Squirrel.

Stay tuned. :0)

In other news ... I'm a bit behind in the end of month OPAM gathering, so if you haven't already emailed your list of December finishes to me or my GORGEOUS Partner-In-Crime Sweet Peg  you'd better hop to it. The hop around will happen over the weekend. As for OPAM this year ... Our numbers have dropped quite a bit & I've noticed a few people who signed up this year haven't followed through ... They haven't blogged, haven't added the badge or a tally list or been emailing tallies ... So ... Do we keep going? Are many of you interested in playing along with OPAM still?? Let me know what you think.

But for now ... I'm off to put the kettle on & get back to my stitching. Enjoy your weekend! Til next time ...

BEAR HUGS!

CHEERS,
KRIS

If you still did OPAM I would still take part.... but I understand if not enough people participate to do all the work you and Peg do....

Hi Kris,

Although I was only 'with you' for six months last year, I did enjoy having that time limit (?) for making my projects. I also liked sharing a little of our tripping around - lots more to come this year! I also enjoyed reading of your travels as your trip was very similar to the one we did earlier in the year.

I am well aware that both you and Peg have put in a HUGE amount of time and effort to this blog, and I for one would appreciate continuing, but as Fiona says if not enough people reply to your call or contribute throughout the year I fully understand.

Again thanks for your wonderful blog.

Nice you got some time to do your new design ...

Thank you for all the fun years running OPAM butI understand that it takes a lot to organise OPAM each month and if folks aren't joining in maybe it's time to stop BUT I do enjoy participating and find it helps me made sure I have at least one finish. Sew IF you run OPAM again I would join in..

Happy New Year! I hope you will do OPAM again Kris as it helps keep me on task. I will try better to send my finishes on time in 2019, too! Thanks for doing it all these years; I'd be a much worse procrastinator without OPAM.....or at least a better starter than finisher.

I for one am interested in continuing with OPAM and fully appreciate all the time that you both put in "behind the scene" and would fully understand if you are unable to continue organising. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to keep on track with our projects and a space to "show and tell" when finished.

Ditto on the above comments. My OPAM 2018 page looks a bit sad ... I only managed a finish for 5 out of the 12 months so I have room for improvement :)

My OPAM list last year was a bit sad but that was mostly due to health issues. If you run it again this year i'll sign up again. Hugs,xx

Well done on the new design and Happy New Year Kris! I do love OPAM, but I'm ready to admit I let the team down a bit - having the big interstate move and trying to get things up and running these past 6 months has been tedious and very time consuming and blogs didn't always work ( really missing the wi fi which is yet to come at some stage). I understand how painful it can be for you guys at times but if you do OPAM ain 2019 I would love to come aboard again please
