Day Eight Of The Road Trip Adventure!

Hello to all you lovelies who are dropping by to share our holiday with my Beloved Geek Boy & I. It's day eight of our road trip & it's been a bit of a cruisy one ... A nice change of pace after a few big travel days.

We were a bit disappointed to find that a couple of activities here at Victor Harbour that we'd included on our "I'd Like To Do That" list aren't currently operating ... But ... that meant we could take time for a bit of a sleep in this morning. NICE! :0) We then headed off to see what we could see & decided to ease into the day with a gentle pastime ...

... A ride on the horse drawn tram. I love Clydesdales! They're the gentle giants of the equestrian world. And their fluffy feet are cute! :0) The tram runs from the Victor Harbour information centre across to Granite Island ...

That's where we were headed ...

... And that's where we'd been. Once on Granite Island we took ourselves off for a walk around some of the paths to admire the ocean views ...

It was quite mesmerising to watch the waves pounding onto the rocks & I love how the colour of the water changes from deep, dark teal in the depths, to lighter, icy minty-teal as the wave draws across the rocks, to foamy, lacy white when waves break on the boulders. Very soothing to watch. :0) After retracing our steps, we jumped back on the tram & headed back to the mainland to spend some time at the whale centre ... No pics, but we learned a lot about whales. ;0) And with all the planned activities done for the day, we went for a meandering drive around the bay, admiring another change in water colour that occurred when some of the clouds rolled away & the sun peeked out ...

What a difference, right?! First clear weather we've seen in days ... Though apparently a cold front is moving through tomorrow ... SIGH! Still ... We're on holiday, so we can still sleep in. :0) We're off to my Aunt's place near Adelaide tomorrow for the next week. It will be nice not to have to pack up every day, I must say, & there are lots of things to see & do around Adelaide, so expect more adventures to come. :0)

But for now, I think I hear the kettle calling before I hit the shower & bed. I hope you're all having a great week & that you're gearing up for a fun weekend. Til next time ...
